Journey with the Wilderness – Assembling Wong Yi Chau

Nestled in Wong Yi Chau, the BGCA Bradbury Camp is a 30-minute trek through lush nature, accessible only by foot. This seclusion fosters an immersive wilderness experience for school children and all ages, ideal for hiking, adventure courses, and kayaking. Our proposed design integrates architecture with the hilly terrain, enhancing the camp’s natural allure and diverse activities.

Main Building: The Pleated Blanket

The main building drapes over the hilly site like a pleated blanket, with functional spaces below—dining areas, activity rooms—and dynamic roof terraces above for gatherings and outdoor classes. At its peak, a cherished stargazing pavilion offers panoramic night sky views, fostering wonder for campers.

Dormitories: The Pebbled Crescent

Dormitories for 140 campers encircle the beloved pebbled road, designed as modular, elevated units with sustainable green roofs. Rooftop platforms, accessible via staircases, provide intimate spaces for moon viewing and stargazing, complementing the pavilion and enhancing the celestial experience. 

Perimeter Ring Road: The Necklace

A permeable ring road unifies key spaces—main plaza, centralized lawn, forest area, pebbled road, and roof terraces. This natural path supports pedestrian flow, linking kayak launches, hiking trails, and resting spots, ensuring seamless exploration of the camp’s offerings. Journey with the Wilderness leverages Wong Yi Chau’s seclusion to create a vibrant hub for outdoor activities. The pleated main building, elevated dormitories, and connective ring road weave nature and architecture, delivering enriched experiences for campers through exploration, community, and connection with the untamed landscape. 

與荒原同行 – 組裝黃宜洲 

BGCA（香港小童群益會）白普理營坐落於黃宜洲，隱密於翠綠的大自然之中。營地無法乘車直達，需徒步穿梭山林 30 分鐘方可抵達。這種與世隔絕的獨特環境，為學童及各年齡層的訪客營造了身臨其境的荒野體驗，是遠足、歷奇培訓和獨木舟活動的絕佳場所。我們提出的設計方案將建築與起伏的山巒完美融合，既提升了營地的自然魅力，也能更好地承載多元的活動需求。

主樓：摺疊的毛毯

主樓宛如一條摺疊的毛毯，輕柔地覆蓋在起伏的山坡上。毛毯之下是實用的功能空間（包括飯堂與活動室），之上則是充滿活力的動態屋頂平台，可用於集會與戶外課堂。在主樓的最高處，設有一座令人嚮往的觀星亭，為營友提供全景式的絕美夜空視野，啟迪他們對宇宙的探索與好奇。

宿舍：鵝卵石新月

可容納 140 名營友的宿舍群環繞著深受大家喜愛的鵝卵石路而建。宿舍採用模組化與高架式設計，並配備可持續發展的綠色生態屋頂。營友可透過樓梯登上屋頂平台，在這些私密溫馨的空間中賞月與觀星，與主樓的觀星亭相輔相成，讓觀天體驗更加豐富。

外圍環路：項鍊

一條具透水性的環形道路將各個核心空間串聯在一起，包括主廣場、中央草坪、森林區、鵝卵石路以及屋頂平台。這條充滿自然氣息的步道順應了行人動線，將獨木舟啟航點、遠足徑和休憩點完美連結，確保營友能無縫探索營地的各項設施與活動。

「與荒原同行」充分利用了黃宜洲遠離喧囂的地理優勢，致力打造一個充滿活力的戶外活動核心樞紐。摺疊造型的主樓、高架的宿舍群，以及具凝聚力的環形道路，將大自然與建築美學交織在一起。透過探索、社區互動以及與原始景觀的緊密連結，為每位營友帶來更豐富深刻的體驗。
